How PocketWell Payouts Work

One of the most common questions from new PocketWell hosts is: when will I actually receive the money? The answer is straightforward. PocketWell batches all gift funds and processes payouts every Tuesday. Once processed, funds arrive in your bank account within 1–2 business days. Standard Payout Schedule

Every gift contributed to your PocketWell page is held securely and included in the next Tuesday payout. This means the maximum wait between receiving a gift and getting paid is 7 days — if a gift arrives on a Wednesday, it will be paid out the following Tuesday. Gifts arriving close to or on Tuesday itself may be included in that week's payout or the following one, depending on the processing cutoff.

Unlike some platforms that operate monthly payout cycles, weekly Tuesday payouts mean you never wait more than a week for your funds. This is particularly useful for time-sensitive collections like wedding wishing wells or honeymoon funds where couples often want to access funds soon after the wedding.

First Payout: Why It Takes Longer

Your very first payout takes longer because Stripe — the payment processor that powers PocketWell — needs to verify your identity before releasing funds. This is a standard anti-fraud and compliance requirement for all digital payment platforms. The verification process typically takes 5–7 additional business days. You will be notified when verification is complete, and all subsequent payouts will follow the standard Tuesday schedule without any additional delay.

The most practical tip: set up your PocketWell page as early as possible — ideally a few weeks before your event. This gives you time to complete the first-payout verification process in advance, so post-event payouts arrive on the standard timeline.

No Fees Taken from Your Payout

PocketWell is free for hosts. The 3.9% processing fee is charged to guests on top of their contribution amount — you receive 100% of every gift, with nothing deducted from your payout. The fee is displayed transparently to guests before they confirm their contribution, so there are no surprises for anyone. Whether guests pay via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a credit or debit card, the same transparent fee applies.

What if my event is on a weekend?
The day of your event doesn't affect the payout schedule. Payouts are always processed on Tuesdays, regardless of when your event takes place. If your event is on a Saturday, your payout will be processed on the following Tuesday (or the same Tuesday if there's still time in that payment cycle). Guests can also continue contributing after the event, which is common for wedding wishing wells and honeymoon funds.
Can I get my money faster than the weekly schedule?
PocketWell processes payouts weekly on Tuesdays — there is no option for faster individual payouts. However, because payouts happen weekly rather than monthly (as some platforms do), you never wait more than 7 days for your next payout. How you receive your gifts in your local currency

Do I need to link a bank account?
You don't need to link a bank account to create or share an event page. When you're ready to receive payouts, you'll complete a quick, secure setup to connect your bank account. This process is powered by trusted payment partners and only takes a few minutes.
How fast are payouts?
Payout speed depends on your country: all supported countries receive weekly payouts to their bank accounts. Your first payout may take slightly longer as our payment partner completes a one-time verification.
How do payouts work?
Once you've connected your bank account, payouts are processed automatically. For weekly payout countries (US, UK, AU), funds are transferred weekly. All payouts are transferred weekly and go directly to your nominated bank account.
Why does my balance say 'Available to pay out soon'?
This means our payment partner is still processing and clearing recent contributions. Once the processing period is complete (usually 1-7 days depending on your bank and country), funds move to 'Available' and can be paid out to your account.
Does PocketWell hold my money?
No. PocketWell does not hold or store your funds. All payments are processed and held by our secure payment partners until they're transferred to your bank account according to your country's payout schedule.
Who processes the payments?
All payments and payouts are handled securely by industry-leading payment processors trusted by millions of businesses worldwide. PocketWell never stores or has direct access to your bank details or payment information.
What happens if I change my bank account details?

Yes! Once contributions are available in your balance (after processing), you can receive payouts at any time—before, during, or after your event. There's no requirement to wait until a specific date.
